Terms of Service

These terms and conditions apply to the ZzzStake app (the “Application”) created by Daniel Kalo (the “Service Provider”). ZzzStake is under active development — some features described here, including real-money staking and native sleep-tracking integration, are not yet live.

By creating an account, accessing, or using the Application, you agree to the following terms. Please read them before using the Application.

The Stake Mechanic

ZzzStake lets you set a personal sleep-score threshold and stake an amount of money against hitting it over a chosen date window. If you hit your threshold, your stake is returned to you in full — you never receive more than you staked. If you miss it, a percentage of your stake is forfeited: a portion goes to the Service Provider, and a portion goes to a charity or cause you choose when you create the stake. This is a self-commitment mechanic between you and yourself — the Application does not involve wagering against, or for the benefit of, any other user.

Once your commitment window begins, your stake cannot be cancelled — it will resolve according to your actual sleep score for that window. A stake can be freely cancelled before its window begins.

Real-money charges are not yet enabled. Until they are, no forfeited stake results in an actual charge to any payment method — the Application currently records what would be charged, not an actual transaction.

Disputes

If you believe a stake was resolved incorrectly — for example, due to a data-syncing issue with your sleep tracking — you may open a dispute from within the Application, explaining the issue. The Service Provider reviews disputes and may reverse a resolution at its discretion.

Use of the Application

Unauthorized copying or modification of the Application, any part of it, or its trademarks is prohibited. Attempting to extract the source code, reverse-engineer, or create derivative versions of the Application is not permitted. All trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property rights related to the Application remain the property of the Service Provider.

The Application stores and processes personal data you provide in order to deliver the service — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what is collected and how it’s used. It is your responsibility to maintain the security of your device, your account credentials, and — once real payments are live — your payment method on file. You must be 18 or older to create an account.

Third-Party Services

The Application relies on the following third-party services, each governed by their own terms and privacy policies:

• Neon — database hosting
• Google — optional sign-in
• Resend — password-reset email delivery
• A licensed payment processor (not yet live) — will handle real-money charges once enabled

Availability and Reliability

Some functions of the Application require an active internet connection and, once live, an accurate sleep reading from your device. The Service Provider cannot be held responsible if the Application does not function fully due to a lack of connectivity, a device sync issue, or a third-party service outage.

The Service Provider may update the Application from time to time, and may modify or discontinue the Application or any of its features at any time. Upon any termination of the service, you must cease using the Application and, if necessary, delete it from your device.

Changes to These Terms

The Service Provider may periodically update these Terms of Service. Continued use of the Application after a change is posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
