Terms of Service
These terms and conditions apply to the Currently app (the “Application”) created by Daniel Kalo (the “Service Provider”). Currently is a free, non-commercial personal movie and TV tracker — it has no subscriptions, no in-app purchases, and no advertising.
By downloading, accessing, or using the Application, you agree to the following terms. Please read them before using the Application.
Use of the Application
Unauthorized copying or modification of the Application, any part of it, or its trademarks is prohibited. Attempting to extract the source code, reverse-engineer, or create derivative versions of the Application is not permitted. All trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property rights related to the Application remain the property of the Service Provider.
The Application stores and processes personal data you provide in order to deliver the service — see the Privacy Policy for exactly what is collected and how it’s used. It is your responsibility to maintain the security of your device and your account credentials. The Service Provider strongly advises against jailbreaking or rooting your device, which removes software restrictions imposed by your device’s operating system and can expose it to malware or cause the Application to function incorrectly.
Shared Lists and User Content
The Application lets you create lists that other people can join and see, including titles you track and ratings you leave. You’re responsible for the content of any list you own or contribute to, and for deciding who you invite to a shared list. The Service Provider is not responsible for content added by other members of a shared list you belong to.
Third-Party Services
The Application relies on the following third-party services, each governed by their own terms and privacy policies:
- Firebase (Google) — authentication and cloud data storage
- The Movie Database (TMDB) — movie and TV metadata
- MDBList — supplemental rating data
- Anthropic — AI-powered recommendation search and checklist import
Availability and Reliability
Some functions of the Application require an active internet connection. The Service Provider cannot be held responsible if the Application does not function fully due to a lack of connectivity, or for the accuracy of movie/TV metadata sourced from third-party providers like TMDB, which the Service Provider does not control.
The Application incorporates Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies for certain features, specifically the natural-language recommendation search and reading a checklist out of an uploaded photo or PDF. By using these features, you acknowledge that AI is used to process the content you submit for that specific request.
The Service Provider may update the Application from time to time, and may modify or discontinue the Application or any of its features at any time. Upon any termination of the service, you must cease using the Application and, if necessary, delete it from your device.
Changes to These Terms
The Service Provider may periodically update these Terms of Service. Continued use of the Application after a change is posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
